The Carter County Commission voted to fund $150,000 for a new fire station in Valley Forge (TN), reports johnsoncitypress.com.

The Commission approved the contribution to building the station for the Hampton/Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Department upon the Budget Committee’s recommendation, the report says. The funds will come from the federal American Rescue Plan Act or via the county’s unassigned fund balance if federal fund usage isn’t permitted.

The new facility will replace the existing station at 3961 Highway 19E, which has served the community since 1954. It will house four vehicles: two pumpers, a tanker, and a quick response vehicle.

Sky 25 captured a heart-stopping scene in Haverhill on Tuesday after a fire broke out at an oil company. It happened on Hale Street in Haverhill. Two workers had to race to pull away a tube that appeared to have been feeding the burning truck. Firefighter Anthony Margarit posted a video to his personal TikTok account, after he and his co-workers filmed a “commercial” wherein Margarit was cooking at Station 1 using Ragú sauce.
