FAO Schwarz, New York Uniformed Firefighters Association Shower Children Of Fallen Firefighters With Toys

FAO Schwarz and the Uniformed Firefighters Association helped bring holiday cheer Sunday to the children of fallen firefighters. As CBS2’s Christina Fan reported, 50 kids and their families were treated to a full day of fun. Joy overflowed from the back of a fire engine in front of FAO Schwarz, where Santa Claus, FDNY mascot Hot Dog, and toy soldiers brought smiles to widows and their children, fulfilling a promise made to their fallen heroes “We thank you so much for coming and being a part of this.

House fire in Gig Harbor burns home, hospitalizes 1 occupant

Firefighters extinguished a house fire in Gig Harbor on Monday morning. The fire appeared to significantly damage the home and one occupant was transported to the hospital. The fire occurred at a home on 87th Street, according to a tweet from Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One. Three people were evacuated from the home, one of whom was hospitalized.

2022 Historic Everett Calendars Feature City's Firefighters Past

Historic Everett is now selling their 2022 Calendar. Available on the Historic Everett website or at J. Matheson Gifts at 2615 Colby Ave in downtown Everett, Washington. The calendar is filled with black and white and color photographs highlighting the history of the Everett Fire Department dating back to 1892.

Fire destroys abandoned house in Puyallup

A fire destroyed an abandoned house Sunday night in Puyallup. Firefighters with Central Pierce Fire and Rescue were called to near the 13900 block of Meridian Street and arrived to find a heavy fire. Firefighters performed an offensive attack on the fire before they were able to put it out. No injuries were reported.

Seattle deputy fire chief died after falling down hillside, coroner says

Deputy Fire Chief Jay Schreckengost died after falling down a steep hillside or cliff, the Kittitas County Coroner says. Rescue crews recovered Schreckengost's body on Nov. 14. The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office says Schreckengost was found in the mountains near Cliffdell, about a half-mile from where his pickup was parked, and he had been missing since Nov.
