World firefighter fitness competition kicks off in Florida

The toughest two minutes in sports will kick off in Fort Pierce on Tuesday. The World Firefighter Combat Challenge Championship is meant to test and showcase the physical demands that comes with being a first responder. Maryland Fire Chiefs Association inducts 58 members into first 'Hall of Fame' class

Some of Maryland's most decorated first responders past and present were celebrated over the weekend with a permanent place in Maryland Fire history. The Maryland Fire Chiefs Association held its first Hall of Fame induction ceremony Saturday for members previously awarded a number of named commendations distinguishing their service to their communities.

A potentially faster-spreading Delta variant, AY.4.2, has been spotted in 8 states

A potentially faster-spreading "sub-lineage" of the coronavirus Delta variant named AY.4.2 has been spotted by labs in at least 8 states, and health authorities in the United Kingdom say they are investigating a growing share of cases from this strain of the virus. Labs in California, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, North Carolina, Rhode Island and Washington state, plus the District of Columbia, have so far spotted at least one case of AY.

Potato truck goes up in flames after driver runs cars off road, evades Pasco Police
