Dexter town council recently approved the purchase of a $581,099 2023 E-ONE truck, reports observer-me.com.
Dexter Fire Department officials say they’ve been trying to acquire a new apparatus, which is expected to take about 15 months to build and deliver, for about a decade.
The town will use $200,000 from a reserve account to pay for the apparatus and will pay about $82,000 a year for five years, the report says.
Council also approved the purchase of a 2008 motor grader with 4,500 hours on it for $48,000; the purchase of a grizzly screen for $8,500 was also approved. Dexter’s current motor grader is a 1995 with 11,000 hours on it, according to the report.
