Woman charged with doing $11,000 worth of damage to Iowa firefighters' vehicles

A Sioux City woman was arrested early Saturday and charged with causing thousands of dollars of damage to vehicles parked at a Sioux City fire station. According to court documents, firefighters at the station at 2630 Third St. heard a car alarm going off in their parking lot at 6:53 a.m. When they went outside to check the alarm, they found Dominique Carman in the lot damaging the vehicles.

‘A second family to me’: Grant County volunteer firefighter finds her service rewarding

Emily Collins loves her volunteer role. Collins is a volunteer firefighter for Grant County Fire District 5, joining the department in early 2020. Rescue operations performed as Sumas is submerged by floodwaters

Hundreds of people found themselves being trapped by rising floodwaters from the Nooksack River and volunteers joined first responders to lead the evacuation effort. With water coursing across nearly every road into Sumas, tractors and boats proved to be one of the few ways to safely run these rescue operations.

Superior (WI) Fire Department Debuts New $1.3M Ladder Truck

The Superior (WI) Fire Department debuted its new $1.3 million ladder truck Friday morning, reports wdio.com.

The apparatus features a 101-foot ladder with a bucket and is a vast improvement to the department’s fleet, officials say.

Dublin (GA) Approved for New Station

The City of Dublin (GA) Fire Department was recently approved for a third fire station, which will serve as department headquarters and aim to add more fire and EMS services to the community, reports wgxa.tv.

The station will be funded mostly by SPLOST dollars, the report says, and Georgia Military College will help with the design.

The new facility is currently in the beginning stages, but the city has purchased land on 441 North. Officials are hopeful the project can be completed by next year.
