Woman clinging to life after two-alarm Edmonds house fire

A woman is in the hospital and clinging to life after a house fire early Friday morning in unincorporated Edmonds. Firefighters say neighbors called them to the home just before 3 a.m. in the 5300 block of 134th Place SW. There, crews found a home with flames bursting out of the front door when someone told them the woman was still inside.

‘GO NOW!’ More Level 3 evacuations and community meeting for Schneider Springs Fire in Yakima County

PHOTOS: Fire authorities working the massive Schneider Springs Fire in Yakima County announced on Thursday new Level 3 evacuations: “Level 3 GO NOW! evacuation notices have been issued for all residents along SR410 from the Intersection of Highway 12 to Little Naches and Bumping Lake Road.” First responders will be going door-to-door to let people know they need to evacuate for their safety.

Seattle nears record number of fires set at homeless camps this year

VIDEO: The city is on track to set a record for the number of homeless encampment fires that have been reported this year, an accomplishment that few people are proud of. According to city data, the Seattle Fire Department responded to 520 fires in homeless encampments in 2019, a figure that rose to 825 in 2020.

Train car on fire in Spokane treated as hazmat incident

PHOTO: The Spokane Fire Department received numerous calls about a train car on fire on the elevated tracks near Sunset Blvd, according to Spokane Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer. The fire has been extinguished but authorities are treating the contents of the car to make sure it is not hazardous because it was not labeled.

Twenty Five Mile Fire Getting Large North of Wenatchee, Specialized Firefighting Crew to Battle It

The Twenty Five Mile Fire is now burning almost 10,000 acres at Lake Chelan north of Wenatchee. It’s also threatening more than 720 homes with evacuation notices, with many of them at the highest level where people are asked to leave immediately. Ryan Rodruck with the state Natural Resources Department says the weather this weekend could present a challenge to firefighters.
