VIDEO: D.C. fire officials say drivers are double-parking near firehouses, leading to delays that could have life-or-death consequences.
Firefighters at 414 8th St. SE more frequently see ride-share and delivery drivers parked in the marked area, often leaving vehicles unattended.
Saturday, when firefighters there were rushing to a call for a crash on Interstate 295, they were blocked by a double-parked car.

VIDEO: An American flag flew gently in the breeze at half-staff Monday outside of Fire Station #1 in Canton.
Inside, the gear of Jared Kneale, including his helmet, gloves and boots, were displayed by a fire truck as a tribute to a man who was loved by so many.

VIDEO: A person is dead after a fire burned their home down with them inside.
Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue (SRFR) was dispatched to a fully engulfed house fire in the 600 Block of Carlson Rd in Machias at 12:20 a.m. First responding crews could see a large amount of fire on the front of the house, and the front door already burnt down when they arrived.

Following the success of the second annual Onalaska Volunteer Firefighters Association car show last year, members are preparing for the third annual car show, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 10, with gates opening at 7 a.m. at the Lewis County Fire District 1’s fire house.
The fire house is located at 1733 state Route 508 in Onalaska.

On Sunday, Walla Walla County Fire District 5 responded to a brush fire on Monumental Road along the Snake River around 1:50 p.m.
According to Walla Walla County Fire District 5, the fire was larger than usual for this time of the year and required the support of several firefighters from around the region.
