VIDEO: The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) is making history with its first-ever father-daughter duo.
Captain Gordon Wolcott pinned his daughter, Raechel Elhers at a ceremony back in March, officially welcoming her to SFD. He said he always knew she would one day follow in his footsteps.
“I know from her personality that she would do it or die trying,” Wolcott said.

PHOTOS: Spokane fire investigators are looking for a man they believe set fire to a bush near a dog grooming business in the Emerson Garfield neighborhood early Wednesday morning.
According to a release from the Spokane Fire Department, a man was caught on video setting fire to an evergreen bush at the southwest corner of Lil Bit of Grooming.

VIDEO: Chopper 6 was over a dramatic crash rescue that unfolded in Chester County on Tuesday.
Firefighters responded to a collision on the 400 block of Hilltop Road in Tredyffrin Township just after 10:30 a.m.
Authorities say a man had been trapped under a red SUV for at least 30 minutes before he was freed.

The Fire Department announced a new campaign Tuesday aiming to diversify its rank-and-file with hundreds of new recruits from all walks of life in the Big Apple.
FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh announced the call to arms, dubbed “All Heroes Welcome,” at the department’s Downtown Brooklyn headquarters on May 14.
