Livermore/Eastern District (KY) Fire Department ‘Making Progress’ on Station Renovation

The Livermore/Eastern District (KY) Fire Department may soon be holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its station renovation, as the department shared on Facebook photos of the progress. The new digs is still scheduled to open on time this summer.

The photos show new engine bays and a large training room. The new bays will include three 12-foot doors and one 8-foot door for the trucks, which is higher than the current truck bays.

In October 2019, the city of Livermore and the Livermore Fire Department received a $500,000 grant to help with the renovation.

Deadly overdoses on track to hit record high in Washington

We’ve heard a lot about how fatal overdose numbers spiked during 2020, but new data shows so far this year, Washington state is on track to have even more deaths. New captains promoted at Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue

Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue promoted Tyler Gear, Ian Brueckner and Tyler Reid to captain at a July 1 ceremony. The new captains will each supervise one of the district’s 24-hour shifts as well as assume overall responsibility for either vehicles, equipment or facilities. The captains were selected after a testing and evaluation process rated by representatives from surrounding departments to include Clallam County Fire District #3, Clallam County Fire District #4, East Jefferson Fire Rescue, Port Angeles Fire Department, Olympic Ambulance and Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe Emergency Management.
