Rosenbauer Announces Multi-Year Contract with the City of San Francisco

Wyoming, Minn., July 14, 2021 – Rosenbauer America announces they have signed a multi-year contract with the City of San Francisco. The contract for high-volume hose tenders was awarded to Rosenbauer with the support of local dealer, Burton’s Fire, Inc.

“Rosenbauer fire trucks have been leading firefighting innovation for more than 150 years,” said John Slawson, CEO and President of Rosenbauer America. “We are honored to support the firefighters and community of San Francisco.”

The City of San Francisco submitted an initial order of three custom Rosenbauer hose tenders and a 3,000 GPM hydraulicly driven submersible pump. The hose tenders are equipped with 5,500 GPM Rosenbauer pumps. Capable of carrying 6,000 feet of 5-inch hose, Rosenbauer hose tenders are designed to supply large amounts of water, perfect for city settings.

“Rosenbauer is dedicated to developing partnerships with progressive, large-scale departments that are looking for more in a vendor relationship. Through these unique collaborations, Rosenbauer and Burton’s Fire will provide full-service support to men and women across the country working the front lines,” said Slawson.

The Rosenbauer Commander custom fire chassis offers indisputable reliability. Engineered entirely with the goal of reduced maintenance stress, Rosenbauer broke away from industry practices by purposely using as many off-the-shelf components as possible. The EXT heavy-duty body is perfect for extreme-duty, high call volume areas, such as large metropolitan districts. Rosenbauer has conquered the demands of hard work with their FX formed aluminum body option for decades.

Rosenbauer’s contract with the City of San Francisco is effective through 2024, with four additional yearly renewals.

Noroton Heights (CT) Fire Department Smidge Closer to Receiving 2022 Aerial

The Noroton Heights (CT) Fire Department is one step closer to updating its fleet, as the Board of Selectmen recently voted to approve a $1.3 million transfer from the Board of Finance reserve account for the purchase of a new apparatus, reports thehour.com.

The next step is going to Board of Finance for approval, officials say.

Fire officials add that the department, when all is said and done, will purchase a new truck to replace Truck 20—a 1988 Mack CF ladder, which is the first to respond to structural calls and rescue calls. It was refurbished in the early 2000s.

If the plans are approved, the new apparatus will be a 2022 model, have a 75-foot aerial device, and a 500-gallon water tank, and it’ll carry an assortment of hose, hand tools, ground ladders, rope rescue equipment, and water rescue equipment.
