Motorist Badly Hurt in Crash with Houston (TX) Fire Engine

A motorist was critically injured when it struck a Houston (TX) Fire Department engine while it was blocking a previous crash scene on Saturday morning.

According to television station ABC13, the crash happened on MLK Boulevard and the crash blocked the entire eastbound lanes.

In a video recorded of the scene, firefighters could be scene extricating a person from the car that hit the fire engine, the television station reported. The fire crews were already on the scene of a previous crash when the car hit the truck. No firefighters were hurt in the crash, the station reported.

Yakima County: Fire crews worry there may be too many fires to handle this weekend

Many cities in Yakima County prohibit using fireworks to help lessen firework fires and injuries. The wind, higher temperatures, and fireworks could be a dangerous combination if people aren't careful. "We prepare for this weekend not just a few weeks before this holiday weekend, but we do our training year round," said City of Yakima Fire Department Chief Aaron Markham.

Resident burned, 2 firefighters treated after 2 big apartment fires in Texas

VIDEO: Houston firefighters responded to large fires at two apartment complexes on the southwest side late Thursday. A citizen was burned and two firefighters were treated for medical issues, HFD Chief Samuel Peña later said. One fire was reported at 11675 W Bellfort after 10 p.m. The good news there, no one was seriously hurt, but 30 to 40 people are now homeless because of it.

Mark Monson's life changed forever while walking his dog near the Savage Fire Department 26 years ago. Monson started chatting with some of the volunteer firefighters who encouraged him to apply. "I don't know how many people can look back at one moment in time and figure out when their life changed for the positive but every positive thing I have in my life came from that moment forward," Monson said.

First responders, K-9s working condo collapse to stay on Royal Caribbean cruise ship in Florida

Hundreds of first responders who have responded to the site of the Surfside condo collapse will be able to stay onboard a cruise ship, Royal Caribbean's CEO says. According to Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean, Explorer of the Seas arrived Thursday at PortMiami to serve as a place to stay for first responders.
