New Orleans Firefighters are always there when the alarm goes off, and now the NOFD has an emergency themselves, and that’s their pay, which currently starts at around $11.29 an hour.
“I want to get paid more. I want to stay in the city. I want to be a homeowner, and I want to contribute more to the city and I can’t and it kills me,” Grant Rodriguez with the NOFD said.

PHOTOS: A 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid sedan caught fire Tuesday night in Haverford, Pennsylvania, while the owner was at the wheel, according to Charles McGarvey, chief fire officer for the Lower Merion Township Fire Department.
Tesla began deliveries of the Model S Plaid, a new high-performance version of its flagship electric sedan, in June, after CEO Elon Musk had said on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast that they would begin in February.

At least one firefighter with the Department of Natural Resources has been injured while battling the Koffman Road Fire in Kittitas County on Sunday.
Hilary Franz, the Commissioner of Public Lands, confirmed to Q13 News that the firefighter is "severely" injured, but they do not have life-threatening injuries.

The death toll from the unprecedented heat wave last weekend has now been linked to at least 29 fatalities in western Washington.
On Thursday, the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed nine heat related deaths and Snohomish County reported three.
According to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office, a 51-year-old male, a 75-year-old male, and a 77-year-old male died from hyperthermia.

Not a single company bid for a new Lake Wateree fire station, reports The Voice.
Fire officials weren’t sure of the reason but thought it may be due to the design and increased construction material prices.
Given the high price of lumber, it is also unclear if the fire station can be built for the budgeted $375,000, which was approved by town officials.
