Wisconsin man surpasses world pushup record to support first responders

A Wisconsin man appears to have broken the world record for most pushups in a year in his effort to raise money for the families of fallen first responders. Nate Carroll, of Winneconne, completed his 1,500,231st pushup Sunday at the 50-yard line during halftime of the 48th annual Fun City Bowl, a football game between New York City first responders at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Colorado town's first motorized fire truck restored to its former glory

VIDEO: A project in Pueblo more than than two decades in the making is finally complete. Pueblo's first-ever motorized fire truck has been restored. The 110-year-old vehicle has helped out in some of the city's most significant emergencies, like the Great Flood of 1921 and the opera house fire of 1922.

Every year, more than 300,000 people die from cardiac arrest, but a new study could help cut into that number for communities around here. When your heart stops, time is of the essence, but that doesn’t just go for paramedics getting on scene. “Good compressions on someone? A maximum of two minutes — a minute, really ideal,” said Rich Burns, Brunswick County’s EMS training coordinator.

3 killed in crash with firetruck near Loon Lake

VIDEO: Three people died after a crash involving a car and a firetruck near Loon Lake on Monday afternoon. WSDOT East tweeted that both directions of Hwy 395 reopened Tuesday morning. The crash occurred at 4 p.m. at US 395 northbound and Grote Road, close to milepost 187. KREM's Casey Decker was at the scene and spoke to officials about how the incident occurred.

Body found by crews fighting brush fire in Yakima County; cause of death unknown

Law enforcement officials are investigating after a man's body was found by crews fighting a brush fire. Officials say firefighters responded to the blaze off of U.S. Highway 12 west of Naches at about 6:15 p.m. Monday. As crews fought the blaze, they discovered a man's body within a burned area of brush, prompting them to notify the Yakima County Sheriff's Office.
