Retired Florida firefighter distributes free Narcan across the country

A retired firefighter from Boynton Beach is doing his part to combat the opioid crisis. Luis Garcia has traveled across the country offering free first aid classes and giving away free Narcan through his nonprofit, USA Opioid Crisis Mortality Reduction." In the last four years, he's donated more than 6,000 doses -- saving 95 lives, according to Garcia.

Firefighter recruits train to survive wildfire season at Fairchild Air Force Base

VIDEO: Fighting fire is about teamwork, which is why Fairchild Air Force Base hosted Airway Heights and Cheney Fire Departments, as well as Spokane County Fire District 3 and 10, for fire training exercises. As the Inland Northwest is getting further into fire season, about 20 recruits trained to take on the elements Saturday.

Crews put out fire at scrap metal yard in Snohomish County

Snohomish County fire crews extinguished a fire at a scrap metal yard in Clearview on Sunday afternoon. People who live near or downwind of the fire were asked to close their doors and windows to avoid breathing in the smoke. Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue responded to the fire in the 18800 block of Yew Way in the morning.

Walla Walla County District #5 Fire Chief Says Fire Near Hansen Loop Could Burn For Days

Walla Walla County Fire District #5 Fire Chief, Michael Wickstrom, says they were notified about a wildland fire off Dodd Road and Highway 12 this afternoon. It was burning along the railroad tracks. According to Wickstrom, Dispatch kept getting calls of a second fire off Hansen Loop on the peninsula.

Chelan County: Allegedly Drunk Man Attempts to Flee Car Fire Scene With Fire & Rescue Apparatus

An allegedly intoxicated driver attempted to flee the scene of a car fire with Chelan Fire & Rescue’s command vehicle Saturday night.
