Naches: Autopsy for man found burned in a small brush fire finds no evidence of foul play

An autopsy for the man found dead, his body burned in a small brush fire in Naches has found no evidence of foul play, like a bullet or stab wound. The medical examiner says there's no clear cause of death yet. The county coroner says a toxicology report will be able to determine whether or not the man died from drugs or alcohol, or if the fire is what killed him.

Spokane firefighters add new vehicles to their fleet for the summer

Spokane Fire District 9 is adding a new Utility Terrain Vehicle or UTV to its fleet, which is good news considering the UTV’s are a shared resource. "One of them is down in Oregon right now at a wildland fire, and it's a great tool for wildland firefighters because if you have an injury where it's hard to get to we can provide quick medical access to those folks and get them out of there," said Richy Harrod, District 9 Division Chief.

Police Investigating Hit-and-Run Involving Charlotte (NC) Fire Apparatus

Police are investigating a hit-and-run involving a Charlotte Fire Department truck, reports WSOC-TV.

Charlotte Fire said no one was hurt in the crash.

Authorities are still working to learn what led to the crash. No arrests have been made at this point.

West Palm Beach (FL) Fire Department Acquires Four New Fire Apparatus

The West Palm Beach Fire Department has bought four new fire engines, reports The Palm Beach Post.

Three of the fire engines were purchased for $674,745 each. A fourth was obtained through a lease. Four fire stations in the city will each get one of the new engines.

The city is working to allow members of the public to come see the new fire engines in the neighborhoods where they are being put into use.

The older trucks were requiring many repairs and were not diesel fuel efficient. The vehicles date as far back as 2008.

Williamsburg (VA) City Council Approves Fire Station Construction

The Williamsburg City Council unanimously voted to demolish and rebuild a 31,000 fire station, reports WAVY.com.

The city will enter a contract with a construction company for a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) of
$13.6 million. The funds were solicited through the Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act.

Demolition is scheduled to begin in early 2022 ahead of the new station opening in late spring 2023.
