Onscene Solutions Adds New Linear Neon-Like Compartment Lights to Eliminate Led Hotspots

WINDSOR, Colo. — May 14, 2021 — OnScene Solutions, a leading manufacturer of cargo slides, LED lighting and equipment securement products in the first and emergency industry, is adding a new energy-efficient compartment light to its already popular and economical Access Series lineup. The all-new Access Pro delivers a linear neon-like experience that eliminates LED hotspots without losing light output — 400 lumens for every 18” of light. All the while, this efficient 12V DC light consumes 25% less energy than competing LED compartment lights with its mere 50MA per 2” segment-amp draw.

Featuring a tough 5/8” Lexan tube waterproof enclosure, the Access Pro is backed by a lifetime warranty and rated for 100,000 hours of use and includes all mounting hardware. Available in lengths from 6 to 72 inches and cuttable in 2-inch increments, these lights can be installed into any roll-up or standard-door configuration, great for new or retrofit applications. The extremely durable Access Pro is waterproof, perfect for underbody and compartment use, and the wire strain relief is UL approved, ensuring wire longevity.

Coming soon, departments can choose from static white, blue, red or green, while leveraging the light’s adjustable beam angle to deliver lighting that meets departments’ exact preferences.

OnScene Solutions is one of the leading LED light suppliers to OEMs in the fire service. The Access Pro joins an array of apparatus lighting solutions that includes other compartment light options, durable light bezels and color-changing in-cab lights. Beacon City (NY) Fire Department Receives $125k in State Funding

The Lewis Tompkins Hose Company of the Beacon City (NY) Fire Department is the recipient of $125,000 in state funding in the 2021-22 budget, reports midhudsonnews.com.

The department showed off its new pumper, which had a total price tag of $640,000 and will allow them to retire two 20 plus-year-old trucks.

Beacon used to have three working fire companies—that has now been reduced to two with an imminent transition to Lewis Tompkins Hose to be the city’s central department.

Officials say the acquisition of this pumper truck will allow the city to reduce the cost of the transition. It’s expected to serve the city for at least the next 25 years.

Logan City (UT) Council to Discuss Fate of Station 70

Tonight the Logan City Council will discuss committing $325,000 to the cost of designing a replacement for the Logan City (UT) Fire Department’s Station 70 in the downtown area, reports cachevalleydaily.com.

Some residents are against sitting the new station on the corner of 100 East St. and Federal Ave., where it would occupy a portion of an existing parking lot. Some local businesses are upset because the proposed fire station will likely restrict the availability of parking for their customers.

An online petition—which has already netted more than 500 signatures and via social media has pushed for a total of 1,000 supporters—argues that the proposed location of the new station will be detrimental to the safety of pedestrians and cyclists on 100 East St. and to the ambiance of a historic district of the city.

The petition also cites increased traffic congestion, noise disturbances, and reduced parking for events in the downtown area as other concerns.

Station 70 is currently located at 76 East 200 North—a short distance from the disputed Federal Avenue parking lot. The station was built in 1974 and is the oldest facility currently operated by the Logan Fire Department.
