4 King County deputies injured rescuing residents from apartment fire

VIDEO: Four King County Sheriff’s Office deputies were taken to the hospital after rushing into a burning apartment complex in Shoreline to rescue residents trapped inside. The 2-alarm fire started around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Linden Highlands Apartments, located on the 17500 block of Linden Avenue North.

Fire threatens homes and power infrastructure in Kelso

Fire crews in Kelso spent Wednesday afternoon fighting flames after a field caught fire in the area of Harris Street Road and Corduroy Road. Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue responded to a report of a field on fire just before 6 p.m. Initial 911 calls stated the fire was growing rapidly. A C2FR Battalion Chief arrived within five minutes to find a mid-slope brush fire with 5 foot high flames threatening multiple structures and immediately asked for a 2nd alarm, which dispatched additional engines, tenders and brush units.

Semi Accident Blocks Traffic on US 97 North of Orondo

PHOTO: A two-vehicle accident was reported just after 2 PM Wednesday on US 97, seven miles north of Orondo. On arrival first responders found a two-vehicle blocking accident involving a semi and minivan. Both vehicles had heavy damage. Two occupants of the minivan were treated at the scene and transported to Central Washington Hospital.

Fire at fourplex displaces three families, Yakima firefighters say

A fire at a fourplex displaced three families early Wednesday morning, Yakima firefighters say. Firefighters went to the building at 1311 Cherry Ave. shortly before 5:10 a.m., where a fire that had started outside the building had reached the attic space, said Shift Commander Jennifer Norton. A total of 22 firefighters, with six fire engines and a truck, were able to put out the fire by 7 a.

Trator Trailer Hits Loudoun County (VA) Fire Apparatus

Four people went to the hospital after an accident involving a fire truck and tractor trailer, reports Loudoun Times-Mirror.

After having stopped to clear cross traffic at the intersection, the engine reportedly proceeded through the intersection and was struck by a tractor trailer that was unable to stop.

Three members of LCFR and the driver of the tractor trailer were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries, per LCSO officials.
