The Oklahoma City (OK) Fire Department has unveiled Ladder 1. Watch the video below in which Major Paul Davis “provides a show-and-tell of this brand new, state-of-the-art piece of fire apparatus” that was recently placed in service at Fire Station 1.

10 MA Fire Departments Receive More Than $150K in Grants

Ten Massachusetts fire departments have been awarded a total of $152,362.74 via the Department of Fire Services Fiscal Year 2021 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program.

First, the Plymouth Fire Department will receive $25,995 for new safety equipment, according to a report on Patch.com. Also, fire departments in the communities of Berkley, Carver, Dighton, Marion, Onset, Raynham, Taunton, and Wareham will receive a total of $112,227.74, according to WickedLocal.com.

In addition, Burlington Fire will receive $14,140 in grants, according to MSN.com.

Firefighters rescue resident, cat from northeast Spokane house fire

Firefighters rescued a resident from a house fire at an East Spokane home late Monday night. Reports of smoke and fire visible on the second floor of a residence on the 1900 block of East Sharp Avenue came in at about 10 p.m., according to a news release from the Spokane Fire Department. Police officers arrived and reported windows cracking with heavy smoke and fire.

21 injured, including 16 firefighters, in New York apartment building fire

VIDEO: An eight-alarm fire tore through an apartment building in Queens Tuesday afternoon, leaving 21 injured, including 16 firefighters, and displacing more than 200 residents. The fire broke out as four-alarm blaze on the top floor of the six-story building on 34th Avenue in Jackson Heights around 1 p.

Pointing to the Future of Lifesaving Firefighting Technology

Six firefighters lost their lives responding to a fire in a century-old, abandoned warehouse in Worcester, Massachusetts, in December 1999. Worried that civilians were trapped inside, rescue teams initiated a rapid intervention; but, unfamiliar with the layout of the building, the smoke-filled warehouse became a labyrinth for those that entered.
