Mississippi governor's mansion decorations pay tribute to first responders, front-line workers

VIDEO: The governor's mansion is now decorated for the holidays and is open to a limited audience over the next several days. "I looked at the decorations at the mansion and I thought, 'This is Mississippi's home and I just helped decorate it.' Wow, what an honor," decorator Trina Dendy said. The mansion is filled with traditional Christmas decor including eight Christmas trees and over 30 wreaths.

Officials: 'Suspicious' fire extinguished at boarded up home in Kelso

A fire that caused damage to a boarded up home in Kelso on Monday evening is being investigated as suspicious, according to Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue. Just after 9 p.m., C2FR and Longview Fire Department crews were called out to a house fire at 304 Catlin Street. The first crews arrived to the scene and found smoke coming from a home that had been boarded up.

2 injured after lift chair detaches at Eastern Washington ski area

Two people fell from Chair 1 at 49 Degrees North after the chair detached from the line Saturday. The two people were immediately treated by ski patrol and only suffered minor injuries, according to a press release from the ski resort. The chair lift was stopped for about 20 minutes while workers assessed the situation.

Kennewick Fire Department, Kennewick Firefighters Local 1296 build 50 bicycles for Bikes for Tikes

PHOTO: Saturday, December 5, the Kennewick Fire Department and the Kennewick Firefighters Local 1296 teamed up to build 50 bicycles, ranging in size and color, at this year’s COVID-safe “Bikes for Tikes” event. These bikes will be distributed to children of various ages throughout the Tri-Cities area by the Heads UP Tri-Cities Foster Kids Committee.
