Body cam video shows Ohio firefighters hosing down man covered in gasoline holding a lighter

VIDEO: The Cleveland Division of Fire recently helped a local man in trouble. Engine 23 was called to a scene after a man reportedly poured gasoline over himself. Upon arrival, firefighters said the man was holding a lighter and said he was going to light himself on fire. Calling for backup, firefighters, along with Cleveland police worked together to keep the man from harming himself.

Study details Oregon, Washington climate emergency preparedness

A new study is answering the question, "How prepared are we for the health effects of climate change?" The answer: Oregon and Washington rank in the middle of the pack. This report from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and the organization, Trust For America's Health, assessed all 50 states and the District of Columbia and found a great deal of variation in their preparedness to protect residents’ health, the researchers said.

Man suspected of bomb threat at Spokane County Democrats office faces arson charge

A man who was arrested following an alleged bomb threat at a building housing the Spokane County Democrats' office is facing a first-degree arson charge. Spokane Police Sgt. Terry Preuninger identified the suspect as Peter Yeager. He is expected to appear in court on Thursday afternoon. Yeager's address is listed in Coulee City, Preuninger added.

7 people escape house fire in Spokane Valley, flames 30 feet high

Seven people managed to escape a burning home in Spokane Valley unharmed. The fire started at the home near Trent and Best Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters said that flames were shooting up to 30 feet in the air. Crews are still working to contain the fire and Spokane fire department says the fire will most likely continue throughout the night.
