A grateful retired firefighter reunited with a stranger he says saved his life by getting him to safety after a fiery car crash in Florida.
Retired fire lieutenant Richard Broccolo recalled the moment Aug. 23 he thought he was going to die after his car went off the roadway on Florida State Road 429.

A Kalama Fire firefighter died of a heart attack Friday after responding to two emergency situations.
Lt. Alan Basso spent 21 years as a volunteer firefighter and fire captain with the Kalama Fire Department. He also worked as a career firefighter and lieutenant with the City of Longview Fire Department for more than 21 years.

The Cowlitz County Fire District is saying goodbye to one of its own after a firefighter/EMT died in the line of duty on Friday.
Fire officials say Al Basso was working with Kalama Fire in the morning hours of November 27 when he responded to two emergency medical calls and was later in a crash, suffering a heart attack.

Washington state is launching its statewide coronavirus exposure app, joining more than a dozen other states that have already enlisted the use of smartphone technology in the ongoing effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Starting Monday, people with iPhones can enable the ‘exposure notifications’ feature that is already in their phone’s settings, and Android devices can download the app.

An accidental fire destroyed the garage of a rental home on the 800 block of North Naches Avenue in Yakima on Sunday, causing an estimated $20,000 in damage, according to firefighters.
