The investigation into a house fire on Campbell Lake Road that resulted in the death of a 9-year-old boy Tuesday is continuing. The Skagit County Fire Marshal, Skagit County Sheriff’s Office and crime scene investigators with the State Patrol are investigating the cause of the blaze, Skagit County Fire District 11 Chief Mike Noyes said.

Lewis County Communications is set to receive $22,580 from the Washington State Military Department in order to address issues in the radio system used to dispatch fire personnel and other first responders. The money comes from the State Homeland Security Grant Program and is available through August of 2023.

Snoqualmie Firefighter Robert Lasswell has headed to California to assist with wildfire efforts. He will be volunteering for 18 days alongside Duvall firefighters in the Duvall Fire Department’s Brush 66 apparatus, designed to combat grass and wildland fires. “Robert is responsible for the Snoqualmie wildland firefighting program,” said Snoqualmie Fire Chief Mark Correira.
