A 100-acre wildfire reported Wednesday in Okanogan County near Tonasket is threatening structures and has led to evacuation notices, according to tweets from the Southeast Washington Interagency Incident Management Team.
The team reported level 2 evacuations were in progress in the area due to the South Pine Fire, as the blaze has been named.

A fire destroyed a barn Wednesday in Brush Prairie.
Clark County Fire District 3 crews were dispatched at 5:28 a.m. to Northeast 117th Avenue and 119th Street for a report of a structure fire.
The first arriving crew found a barn in a field engulfed in flames, Fire Marshal Chris Drone said.
Firefighters employed a defensive strategy, Drone said, dousing the flames from the exterior of the barn.

The Walla Walla Emergency Management Department has added a feature to their emergency notifications system that allows residents to receive text alerts when something is urgent.
The notifications include alerts, advisories, and community messages.
Walla Walla County citizens can text their zip code to “888777” to receive real-time alerts and advisories directly from emergency management and local agencies.

A man accused of starting a fire to a Centralia home while a person was inside reportedly told his mother he had set the house on fire, but denied wrongdoing to authorities.
Julian B. McIntosh, 26, of White City, Oregon, was charged with first-degree arson Tuesday in Lewis County Superior Court.
McIntosh has a White City, Oregon address listed as his permanent address but said in court he lives in Centralia on the property where the fire occurred.

VIDEO: Emergency crews pulled a man who was trapped in a deep trench on the Northwest Side after about two hours of effort on Tuesday.
The man, a construction worker, fell into the trench while his crew was excavating near Galm Road and Swayback Ranch. He was waist-deep in dirt, officials said after the dramatic rescue.
