Georgia firefighter puts on heels to raise awareness for domestic violence

Tifton fighters are trading in their boots for high heels to show support for the fight against domestic violence. Kiefer Daughtry is an engineer at the Tifton Fire Department, and right before the interview, he traded in his work shoes for a pair of fuchsia-colored high heels. “What’s going through your head right now? Fire truck being raffled off in Pennsylvania

6 adults, 1 child displaced after fire damages four-plex in Hazel Dell

Crews battled a "stubborn fire" at a four-plex in the Hazel Dell area early Friday morning. At around 2:30 a.m., firefighters with Clark County Fire District 6 and Vancouver Fire were called out to a fire in the 6200 block of Northeast 11th Avenue. When firefighters arrived to the scene, the fire had spread from one of the units to the attic.

Washington to become second state to adopt wildfire smoke worker safety rules

Construction, agricultural, and other outdoor workers braved the grey smog that choked most of Washington state last month. It was so bad, that its prompted Washington’s Labor and Industries division to craft rules that protect workers from wildfire smoke. This week, L&I filed the official notification, known as CR-101, the first step in the rulemaking process.

4 injured after car crashes into restaurant in Seattle

The Seattle Fire Department responded to the Chinatown-International District in Seattle Thursday after a car crashed into a commercial building. The car crashed into Dim Sum King restaurant at the intersection of S Jackson Street and Maynard Avenue S just after 2 p.m. Four people were taken to the hospital for evaluation, but none had serious injuries, according to David Cuerpo, public information officer for the Seattle Fire Department.
