A Tacoma middle school student took part in a dangerous new challenge that is making its way across social media channels, and school officials are sounding the alarm. The challenge implores kids to record a video of themselves partially plugging in a cell phone charger and then sliding a penny between the charger and the wall, then post the results on TikTok.

A Spokane meteorologist is on his way to Australia to lend his expertise on the bush fires that have devastated 3,000 homes and killed more than 30 people. A Chelan County firefighter was found dead off Blewett Pass after she was buried in snow that had fallen from a roof. Chelan County Fire District 3 said Kimiko Nalle, 46, was found buried in snow when crews responded to the incident at 3:45 p.m. Thursday. Attempts to revive her were not successful.

After a cross-country flight, 10 rescue puppies recently received a proper welcome home by Resilient Hearts Animal Sanctuary and South King Fire and Rescue firefighters.
