Firefighters battled a blaze Saturday night at a home south of Toppenish. Yakima County Fire District 5 officials say firefighters arrived before 8:30 p.m. to find one home fully involved and another home starting to be involved near U.S. Highway 97, Marion Drain Road and Spurck Road. Fire officials say no one was at home at the time of the fire and that the case has been turned over to Yakama Nation Police Department for investigation.

Authorities say a fire engulfed a camper and unattached shed Sunday morning in Prosser. Benton County sheriff's deputies and firefighters responded about 10:30 a.m. to reports of a structure fire in the 12500 block of North Missimer Road. Deputies say the two structures were totally engulfed within minutes, but left the main residence undamaged, No one was injured in the fire.

Donated toys were piling up on Saturday as Spokane County Fire District #8 and the Spokane County Swat Team were collecting toys in the memory of Josie Freier and McKenzie Mott, who were killed in the 2013 Ponderosa jump crash. Every year since the loss of his daughter, Rick Freier has collected Toys for Tots in memory of his daughter, Joise.

A woman was arrested Friday for setting a fire on her RV's trailer porch. It happened on the 1400 block of South Date Street in East Kennewick. The Benton County Sheriff's Office says when firefighters arrived, they found the wooden front porch on fire and a woman inside who refused to get out. 35-year-old Terra Redmond eventually came out unharmed and the fire was put out.

A procession was held for a 23-year-old Walla Walla County firefighter who died in a car crash last month. Ashton Farley was found unconscious with his car on its side in ditch along Harvey Shaw Road west of Prescott on Nov. 21.
