Fast food chain In-N-Out was responsible for a 2017 grass fire in rural Arroyo Grande, a lawsuit filed by Cal Fire in San Luis Obispo Superior Court alleges.
According to the lawsuit, a wildfire sparked Sept. 20, 2017 on a property owned by In-N-Out at 9815 Huasna Road in Arroyo Grande.
The fire was caused by a tractor mowing grass on the property, Cal Fire says in the suit — noting that the property was covered in “dry annual grasses and scattered brush, which created a receptive bed of flammable vegetation.

The Seattle Fire Department responded to a fire at a condo building in the Northgate neighborhood Sunday morning.
SFD said smoke was found in the attic of the building in the 10500 block of 8th Avenue Northeast.
Crews were able to put out the flames in 20 minutes, but still upgraded the fire to a full response.

Police say two people are believed to have serious injuries after a Walla Walla house fire.
Shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, officers and firefighters arrived to the fire at 602 E. Chestnut St. The fire was shooting out a side window.
Officers got there before the fire department and determined two people were still inside.

Part-time South Whidbey Fire/EMS firefighters formed the organization’s first-ever firefighter union last spring.
Fire commissioners are expected to approve an agreement with the newly formed union at the Dec. 12 meeting.
Negotiations began in August, said Fire Chief Rusty Palmer.
Palmer presented a draft three-year contract to commissioners last week for approval.
