An injured trail runner is sharing his miraculous story of survival after breaking part of his leg on a remote trail on the Olympic Peninsula.
Joe Oldendorf says he crawled for more than 10 hours until rescuers found him early Saturday morning on the Duckabush Trail, which is west of Hood Canal.
Oldendorf was released from Harborview Medical Center on Sunday evening.

One man was critically injured after a tree fell on a six-unit apartment building in Renton on Sunday morning.
Dispatchers received a call about 7:05 a.m. that there was a possible tree through a home in the 22200 block of 196 Ave. SE, according to Puget Sound Fire Captain Joe Root.
An approximately 200-foot tree fell on top of the building, trapping one man who was sleeping on the couch at the time.

Local firefighters are preparing to run up 69 flights of stairs to fight cancer.
The Spokane County Fire District Eight team practiced on a stair climbing machine in a South Hill parking lot on Saturday to raise awareness and money for the challenge. The Firefighter Stairclimb challenge takes place in Seattle, and is a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

A Kelso couple lost their home to a house fire Friday while they were out at a doctor’s appointment, according to firefighters.
Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue and Cowlitz County Fire District 5 responded to the fire around 3:15 p.m. Friday. Neighbors and a school bus driver reported the blaze in the 300 block of Ross Road in Kelso.

An overpass was set aflame after a semitrailer hauling thousands of gallons of fuel overturned in Indianapolis on Wednesday.
The tanker hit a guardrail on an on-ramp from Interstate 465 to I-70, which split the tank and overturned the semi, according to the Indianapolis Fire Department.
Witnesses told the fire department that the driver of the truck exited the tanker on his own with his clothes on fire.
