Seattle Fire Department will boost crews in West Seattle due to bridge closure

The Seattle Fire Department will adapt to this year’s high-rise West Seattle Bridge closure by adding a medic team and a ladder-truck team west of the Duwamish River. Those resources will help ensure a fast response to emergency calls despite that shutdown and potential slowdowns through the low-rise West Seattle swing bridge or First Avenue South Bridge, the department announced Friday.

Clark County Fire District 6 crews settle in at new station in Salmon Creek

Clark County Fire District 6 crews stationed in Salmon Creek have a sleek new facility equipped with modern technologies to call home while on the job. Staff moved into the new station at 1119 N.E. 136th St. in late March. The site adjoins the old Station 63 at 1200 N.E. 134th St. Taxpayers approved bonds to fund the multimillion-dollar project in 2018.

No one injured in Spokane house fire

An early morning house fire on Friday forced seven people out of their home. According to Spokane Fire Department, crews got a call just before 4:30 a.m. for a house fire on Wall Street between Sinto Avenue and Sharp Avenue. People could see heavy smoke coming out of the house. Firefighters said everyone got out of the house safely, and no one was injured.

Texas: Health EMS teams are ready to deploy as part of state’s Rapid Assessment Quick Response Force

The state of Texas is using lessons learned from hurricane response efforts to combat COVID-19, and UT Health EMS crews are training to be part of the state’s solution. On Thursday, UT Health EMS provided training at its headquarters for their employees and Hopkins County EMS crews, both of whom are part of the state’s Rapid Assessment Quick Response Force.
