PHOTOS: Firefighters with South Kitsap Fire and rescue helped rescue a dog that was stuck in a tree in Port Orchard on Friday.
Officials said the dog climbed onto a fallen tree that was suspended about 25 feet in the air and could not get back down at South Kitsap Regional Park.
Firefighters put a harness on the dog and carried her down a ladder by hand.

The Cold Creek Fire will have cost nearly $1 million once put out -- but a fire official says it could have been worse.
By 2 p.m. Monday, the fire -- which has burned an estimated 41,920 acres on the Hanford Reach National Monument since Thursday afternoon -- was about 90% contained, said Capt. Ron Fryer with the Southeast Washington Incident Management Team.

Whenever a fire starts, firefighters on the ground decide whether to call in air support, but are typically quick to do so to make sure fires don't get out of hand.
The best case scenario is that an Air Attack plane arrives first, holding a former ground firefighter who can help call the shots and direct aircraft around the fire, essentially acting as an Air Traffic Controller from the sky.

Due to hot, dry conditions in the forecast, certain outdoor recreational fires will be restricted in Spokane County and the Spokane metro area effective Wednesday, July 24.
The Spokane Regional Fire Marshals put the restrictions in place for campfires, fire bowls and fire pits. The restrictions will continue until further notice and are subject to change depending on conditions.
