New Structural Firefighting Gloves by HexArmor® Brings Innovation and Performance to the Field

Grand Rapids, MI – HexArmor, an industry-leading PPE manufacturer and safety technology company, has designed a new glove for firefighters – the FireArmor SR-X structural firefighting glove. Backed by almost 20 years of offering best-in-class hand protection, this all-new structural firefighting glove harnesses years of design and innovation.

“From the beginning, HexArmor has been focused on redefining safety with the latest technology to help send every worker home safe,” explained Steve VanErmen, President and CEO of HexArmor. “We are truly humbled by the work our firefighters do every day – they deserve the best protection. We saw an opportunity in the fire industry to leverage our current technology and innovation techniques to help transform how a traditional structural firefighting glove feels, performs, and protects.”

Compliant and certified to NFPA 1971:2018, FireArmor SR-X gloves meet the updated requirements of structural firefighting gloves to provide added protection from flame and heat, as well as other physical hazards. Gloves’ inner liners feature 360-degree heat resistance and a 360-degree barrier against liquids and chemicals; outer layers feature water-resistant and flame-resistant material with form-fitted fingers. Additional back-of-hand heat and cut protection and reinforced patches on accident-prone areas complete the glove.

“We’ve received some amazing feedback from firefighters trialing these gloves in the field who’ve commented about the high comfort levels and flexibility of the gloves right out of the bag,” continues VanErmen. We’re honored to play a small role in their demanding, and sometimes dangerous, jobs. This is why we do what we do.”

The FireArmor SR-X structural firefighting glove joins several popular products by HexArmor in the public safety sector including: the trusted EXT Rescue extrication gloves line for firefighters, the PointGuard Ultra line with industry-leading needlestick protection for police officers and first responders, and the HexArmor safety eyewear lineup with permanent anti-fog and anti-scratch coatings.
