New California fire district emerges amid reshuffling of departments

Sonoma County’s newest fire district is making its debut Thursday, combining four agencies into one large district circling Santa Rosa, and spanning from Windsor to the Napa County line. The Sonoma County Fire District, run by Chief Mark Heine, becomes the county’s second largest in territory and population and the second busiest, behind Santa Rosa Fire in both cases.

Denver firefighter accused of recording surreptitious images of female colleague

'It just really wiped it out!': Wrong-way driver sends semi crashing into Spanaway home

PHOTO: Luckily no one was seriously injured when a wrong-way driver sent a semi into a Spanaway home Friday morning, narrowly missing a sleeping couple. It was around 3 a.m. when a pickup driver was heading the wrong way on Spanaway Loop Road and approached a northbound semi, according to Det. Sgt. Gary Sanders with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.

Camas-Washougal Fire Department's James Tierney Promoted to Fire Captain/Paramedic

Firefighter/Paramedic James Tierney, a 10-year veteran of Camas-Washougal Fire Department has been promoted to the rank of Fire Captain/Paramedic. Congratulations, Captain Tierney!
