Smoke from abandoned house fire clouds Seattle’s U-District, visible from I-5

A fire at an abandoned house in Seattle's University District sent flames 30 feet in the air and a cloud of smoke that was visible from I-5. Seattle Fire said the fire was at an abandoned home in the 4500 block of 9th Avenue East. No was was living in the home, but it's unclear if anyone was inside when the fire started.

No Injuries After Bathroom Fire Extends Into Vent in Satsop

No injuries were reported after crews doused a Satsop house fire this morning. Fire Chief Adam Fulbright with Grays Harbor Fire District 5 said that they responded to the report of a residential fire on Allen Rd in Satsop Thursday with support from Elma and McCleary Fire Departments. Emergency responder arrived within 6 minutes of the initial dispatch and noted heavy smoke visible from the structure.

East County Fire & Rescue: Fire levy lid lift to go back on ballot

Fire commissioners at East County Fire and Rescue (ECFR) will again ask voters to support the rural fire district by passing a fire levy lid lift in the August primary election. If approved, the “lid lift” would restore the fire levy approved in 2008 to its original rate of $1.50 per $1,000 in assessed property value (APV).
