A Cobb County fire engine was destroyed in a fiery crash Sunday along Interstate 20. The agency said on its Facebook page that Engine 9 is a "total loss" after it was hit around 4:09 a.m. on the westbound side of the interstate between Thornton Road and Riverside Parkway.
The engine was parked at the scene of an accident when a blue sedan hit the back of the truck, which was blocking travel lanes during a traffic investigation, said Cobb police spokesman Neil Penirelli. The truck had its emergency lights activated. Cobb County fire said the truck caught fire and quickly became engulfed in flames. Additional crews were dispatched to help with the investigation into the second accident.

Chelan County Sheriff's Office has reported a 36-year-old man from Tacoma, Washington drowned in Lake Chelan Saturday when his two-person inflatable kayak flipped over.
The incident occurred north of the dock area at Lake Chelan State Park.
Around 2:49 p.m., authorities began receiving calls of two people in the water.

Yakima County Fire District was called to White Swan for a structure fire. A release sent out by the Fire District stated that there was fire damage to living room and contents, smoke damage throughout residence and an estimated loss at $60,000.
The full release sent out by Officer Babcock with Fire District 5 stated the following information:
YCFD#5 Station 1 was dispatched to a possible residential structure fire.

Grant County Fire District No. 5 successfully launched its first annual spaghetti feed fundraiser dinner Saturday, drawing in dozens of attendees in support of the volunteer firefighter association.
The fire district is one of the state’s largest, servicing fire and rescue missions for around 560 square miles of territory ranging from medical emergencies in urban outskirts of Moses Lake, rescuing a stranded boat from the surface of the reservoir and firefighting in the middle of the Grant County desert.
