Garbage trucks loses control on icy street in Kenmore, trapping driver

A harrowing rescue took place on a steep, icy road in the aftermath of our winter storms. A garbage truck lost control along a twisting section of NE 163rd St, and the driver ended up trapped beneath the rig. A utility crew driving a snow plow first came upon this wreckage and quickly discovered the driver pinned between the vehicle and the snow and ice.

Richland Fire Department's new ambulance is loaded with high-tech safety features

Firefighters and paramedics at the Richland Fire Department have welcomed a new member of the team -- a new, high-tech ambulance. It's the first of its kind for the department. Unlike the rest of their medic units, this one has several safety features aimed to better serve the City of Richland. Firefighter Charged With Burglary From Baltimore City Fire Stations

Members of the firehouse reported seeing an unknown man wearing a firefighters uniform enter their firehouse without their permission.  

A member confronted the intruder who quickly left, police said. After examining their belongings, a member realized her wallet was missing.  

Baltimore City Fire Stations all over the city were placed on alert and advised to frequently check their firehouses were secure.

Mocksville (NC) Welcomes New Fire Apparatus

 
 

At a cost of more than $560,000, it has taken two years for the truck to be delivered. It was still due for lettering last week, and firefighters will train on the new engine for several weeks before it is put into service, said Fire Chief Frank Carter.  

It replaces a 20-year-old engine that had traveled more than 100,000 miles.

The 2018 Rosenbauer will be safer for firefighters, featuring rollover protection and side air bags. It can transport up to five firefighters.
