Maple Ridge (Canada) Donates Fire Apparatus to Justice Institute

“The JIBC runs a specialized world class training facility located here in Maple Ridge. First responders from across Canada and around the world received advanced training that allows them to deal with a huge array of fire emergency and rescue scenarios,” said Maple Ridge Mayor Nicole Read. “Council is pleased to be able to assist them with this important work with the donation of our retired fire truck.”

Largo (FL) Woman Injured After Crashing into New Fire Apparatus

According to deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team, Kurt Crevier, 30, a firefighter with Pinellas Suncoast Fire District, was out testing a new 2018 Pierce Manufacturing fire truck with two fellow firefighters, traveling southbound on Gulf Boulevard.  

Deputies say as Crevier made a left turn from Gulf Boulevard, eastbound into a business at 18399 Gulf Boulevard, Johanna Costello, 54, of Largo, who was driving a 1995 GMC Jimmy northbound in the median lane of Gulf Boulevard, crashed into the last 4 feet of the passenger side of the fire truc

Fire burning off I-82 between Benton City and Prosser

Firefighters are battling a blaze off Interstate 82 between Prosser and Benton City. The fire is burning near Gibbons and Yakitat Road and thick smoke is affecting visibility on the freeway. Drivers should use extreme caution, according to West Benton Fire Rescue. Crews responded to the scene at about 2:40 p.

EMS Services, Part 1: Fate of patients is at stake; Grandview City Council to discuss ambulance service next month

A few weeks ago, the Grandview City Council was presented information about a proposal from the Sunnyside Fire Department ambulance service. The council members decided to seek more information before it makes a decision. At issue is which service is best for the community. Residents in Grandview were provided service by a private entity until 2000, when Prosser Memorial Hospital (now Prosser Memorial Health) stepped up in the wake of the private service shuttering its doors.
