Pechanga (CA) Gives Away Toys Packed in Fire Apparatus

 
 
Pechanga Fire Department firefighters helped load the gifts onto the truck Friday, Nov. 30,  for the effort organized by the TV station and the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots. The truck had about 350 items that will go to needy children this Christmas. Pechanga, which has donated toys to Spark of Love for several years, also contributes cash and toys to Toys for Tots. Pechanga gives out 1,000 turkeys to food banks and rescue missions for the holidays.

Firefighter Hospitalized After Fire Apparatus Accident Near Republic (MO)

The crash involved a West Republic Fire Protection District truck northwest of Republic at Farm Road 168 and Farm Road 59. The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The driver was headed to a call.

The fire chief says the truck flipped several times along the shoulder of the road. Crews extricated him from the truck. Emergency crews airlifted the firefighter to a local hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Firefighters rescue woman from burning SeaTac apartment

Firefighters rescued a woman her burning apartment Thursday morning in SeaTac, emergency officials said. Crews responded to the scene, an apartment complex in the 16700 block of 31st Avenue South, at about 7:20 a.m. after another resident there called to report a possible fire, said Kyle Ohashi of the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority.

Hash oil production possible cause of Kennewick house fire

Police say an illegal hash oil production is likely to blame for an explosion causing a house fire in Kennewick. Firefighters tell Action News there was an explosion inside the home at 15th and Yelm Street, Thursday around 12:35 p.m. A woman, later identified as Lenne Parson and four elementary-aged children were inside the home at the time of the explosion and were able to escape.
