Vancouver Fire Marshal Heidi Scarpelli receives state honor

On Oct. 25, the Washington State Association of Fire Marshals named Vancouver Fire Marshal Heidi Scarpelli the 2018 Washington State Fire Marshal of the Year. The award is the highest honor given to local fire marshals in the state. Scarpelli has a 27-year career with the City of Vancouver and has served as fire marshal since 2011.

Kennewick Fire Station 5 wins national design award

Kennewick Fire Station 5 won Firehouse Magazine's Gold Award for stations under 15,000 square feet in its fifth annual Station Design Awards program. Woman reportedly burned in Vanvouver's Rose Village house fire

Three neighbors are credited with rescuing a woman from a burning home in Vancouver’s Rose Village neighborhood Friday afternoon. One neighbor, Chris Elam, 34, said he was working on his home when he and another neighbor, Kevin Matlock, ran to their neighbor’s house after smelling and seeing thick smoke.

New Fire Engine Ready To Serve Highland, San Manuel Band Of Mission Indians

In honor of the days when firefighters used to have to push hand-drawn and horse-drawn equipment into their stations, Medical Engine 542 on Thursday was manually backed into the apparatus bay to begin its duty.

San Manuel’s 2017 grant also funded the purchase of new breathing equipment, defibrillators and other rescue apparatus.
