Benton County Fire District #1 seeking votes for EMS levy

Benton County Fire District #1 has had their hands full with fire calls this summer, but another thing keeping them on their toes is medical calls. The problem is they don't have any ambulances to take of them. BCFD #1 is asking residents to vote on a levy that would help them get two ambulances and hire personnel to staff them.

Firefighter injured in Twisp River Fire sues Okanogan County Electric Cooperative

Daniel Lyon, the firefighter who was severely burned in the 2015 Twisp River Fire, has filed a lawsuit against the Okanogan County Electric Cooperative (OCEC), alleging that the co-op’s negligence and recklessness in maintaining trees near powerlines ignited the deadly fire. The lawsuit, filed May 30 in Okanogan County Superior Court, seeks unspecified damages for Lyon’s physical and mental pain and injuries, disability and loss of earnings.

‘There were flames about 40 feet in the air’ at Whatcom Meadows Thursday night

Missouri duck boat accident leaves 17 dead, including children

A tourist duck boat capsized in a lake near Branson, Missouri, killing at least 17 people, including children, as severe thunderstorms struck the area Thursday night, the Missouri Highway Patrol said. Texas firefighters union files lawsuit challenging enforcement of 'free speech zones'
