‘Lengthy consecutive sentences’ sought for salon owner in deaths of 2 Missouri firefighters

Prosecutors are recommending an 89-year prison term for the “serial arsonist” who set a fire in her nail salon that resulted in the deaths of two Kansas City firefighters. Thu Hong Nguyen, 46, is scheduled to be sentenced Friday by Jackson Country Circuit Court judge Joel P. Fahnestock. She was convicted of murder, arson and assault in the Oct.

Humarock (MA) Fire Station Upgrades Could Begin in Fall

The current single bay garage is unable to accommodate larger trucks. Murphy said the building is also in poor condition and suffered serious saltwater flooding in the storms earlier this year.

“The new garage will allow us operational flexibility for the future,” Murphy said.

Murphy is looking at two companies who have previously worked in Scituate – Morton Buildings, Inc., which built Untold Brewing, and Northern Steel, which built Scituate Boat Works.

Cleanup Begins at Flooded Green Bay (WI) Fire Station

All crew members who were working at this fire station left Monday night to help people who were trapped in flood waters. Fire Chief Dave Sitton said once the crews returned to the station, they noticed the bottom level was flooded. On Tuesday, crews spent all day pumping out water. As of now, the station still doesn't have power. The 6 crew members who are normally stationed at this location are spread out and are staying at different stations.  

Sitton says he does not know when the station will be back up and running. The chief also says it should not affect response times for any emergencies in the area.  He says they divided the coverage up with other stations to make sure they can get to emergencies as fast as possible.

Van Buren County (MI) Ambulance and Truck Involved in Accident

Undersheriff Hunt said a semi headed south crossed over the center line and side swiped the Van Buren Emergency Medical Services ambulance, causing the semi to roll over.  

Newschannel 3 has confirmed the paramedic driving the ambulance was taken to the hospital with a minor injury. The ambulance was not transporting anyone at the time.
