The new 13,000-square-foot, $6 million station is on the site of the old Pasadena Hardware, near Maryland Avenue and Forest Drive, next to Galilee Lutheran Church. Firefighters began moving in and operating from the new home of the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company on Sunday afternoon.

"Over the last three and a half years, Anne Arundel County has undertaken a major effort to address our public safety infrastructure," said Schuh. "This new volunteer fire station is a bricks and mortar example of our unwavering commitment to public safety."
This new station sits on about 3.5 acres and is just over 12,000 square feet. It replaces a fire station that was built in the 1940s. The new station incorporates "green" site and design features including solar technology, Energy Star appliances, landscaping and irrigation efficiency strategies, low emission appliances, stormwater control and is LEED Silver certified.
