Voters in Greenville give the green light for a $6.5 million fire station.

The Greenhead fire station will soon have a new home. The Florida Department of Transportation offered the department money in exchange for land near the current station. The new station will be near the corner of Highway 77 and Spring Pond Road near Crystal Village.

The County of Orange Fire & EMS Department has received $846,000 in federal funding for new equipment. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has a grant program to help firefighters and first-responders get needed gear, vehicles and training.

The Portsmouth Fire Department announced an exciting new addition to the crew yesterday. The fire department purchased a brand new 100′ Ascendent Mid-Mount Truck, which will be built by Pierce Manufacturing. In a Facebook post, the department thanked the Portsmouth City Council, City Manager Dr. Patton, City Finance Department and Fleet Services for the new addition.
