Former New York fire commissioner dad, firefighter son settle suit against department for $900,000

A former New Hyde Park fire commissioner and his firefighter son received a $900,000 settlement from the fire department after they said the department damaged their reputations by having them wrongfully arrested on theft charges. For Michael Dolan and his son, Michael Jr., the settlement announced Tuesday marked the culmination of a six-year legal battle to clear their names.

San Francisco firefighters say city supervisor “intoxicated” at big North Beach fire

San Francisco Supervisor Aaron Peskin was “clearly out of control” and appeared to be intoxicated the night he ripped into fire officials at the scene of a four-alarm blaze in North Beach, according to internal memos by the commanding officer and others at the scene. On Tuesday, Peskin denied the allegation.

Texas EMS enforcing new steps to avoid miscommunications after possible bomber tip-off

New York fire department union threatens legal action over battalion chief job
