Fire consumes house near South Perry District in Spokane

Fire consumed a house near the South Perry District in Spokane early Friday morning. The fire near 5th Ave. and Crestline St. broke out around 5:30am. Neighbors tells KXLY 4 News the house was vacant and he just been sold earlier this month. The roof collapsed while our crews were on the scene. The Spokane Fire Department says there were no injuries to firefighters.

Three Firefighters Killed in NY and PA

Tragedy has struck the fire service as three firefighters from two departments have succombed to injuries suffered at the scene of two fires. 

The FDNY is mourning the loss of a 15-year veteran after he died from injuries sustained battling a fire at a movie set in Harlem.

In York, Pennsylvania, the fire department has lost two firefighters after a building collapse.

Two Pennsylvania firefighters killed in collapse at Weaver Piano Co. fire

Two York City firefighters were killed when a wall collapsed Thursday at the former Weaver Piano & Organ Co. building, which had been heavily damaged in a fire that began the day before. Ivan Flanscha, 50, of York Township, died just before 4 p.m. at York Hospital, according to a report from the York County Coroner's Office.

Ousted Florida firefighter of year sues City of Orlando for 'wrongful termination'

Joshua Granada, the 2017 fire fighter of the year, filed a wrongful termination civil lawsuit against the city of Orlando Thursday, arguing the reason cited for his dismissal was just an excuse to remove him from the job. Granada, a 10-year veteran of the Orlando Fire Department, was recognized for his response to the Pulse nightclub massacre during a ceremony in Tallahassee with Gov.
