2 dump trucks collide west of Marysville

A main road is closed about three miles west of Marysville after two dump trucks collided, emergency officials said. Firefighters and Snohomish County deputies responded to the scene, on 140th Street NW near 56th Avenue, at about 12:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious crash. Two heavily damaged dump trucks were found at the scene.

Palo Alto Firefighters Use Fire Apparatus in Rescue

Firefighters responded at about 7:40 a.m. to a call in the 2100 block of Amherst Avenue, where a man fell while on a construction site. Paramedics from the Fire Department treated the worker and firefighters used a Stokes basket and a ladder truck to lift him out of the hole, which was between 4 and 6 feet deep, from bottom of the basement, which was 12 to 15 feet deep, Battalion Chief Bobby Davis said.

Davis said the man was conscious but suffered an injury from the fall. After paramedics treated him, he was transported to a local hospital, Davis said.

Pasadena (CA) Unveils New High-Tech Fire Apparatus

Firefighters gave police personnel, city officials and community guests an up-close look and tour of the new $1.29 million unit, designed better meet environmental emissions standards and provide the department with improved efficiency when saving lives.

“As our firefighters respond out to the community we want to ensure that they have the most functional pieces of apparatus, tools, and equipment and this unit is going to help them,” said Pasadena Fire Department Chief Bertral Washington.

The new 2017 Seagrave Tiller Drawn Aerial Ladder Truck replaces the previous ladder truck of the same model that was manufactured in 1995.
