Two Knox County fire departments looking into new fire trucks

Now they are looking into a smaller truck that would cost roughly $300,000. This would replace one of these older models. It would also come with extra features to better serve the community.

"We are continually committed to making sure that public safety is priority and our firefighters have the equipment that they need. So this is really one of the primary things that local government does. That's the cost of doing business," said Estabrook.

Another department in Knox County looking for a change is the Vincennes Township Fire Department. Department Chief Tim Smith and the rest of the department are looking to replace their departments ladder truck.

Check out Flower Mound Fire Department's cool new fire truck

Chief Eric Greaser and several fire captains and firefighters made the trip earlier this week “to inspect the rig and make sure it is ready to be delivered to Flower Mund in the near future.”

The new truck is a 95-foot mid-mount platform. The old Truck 501 will be traded in, common practice for its retired fleet.

Wauseon welcomes home 1951 GMC firetruck

"It's great. Just to kind of bring back some history for the fire department from days past. This is the last red vehicle that Wauseon Fire Department had because ours are all white. It's just neat because a lot of the older guys in town, when it was an all-volunteer department, they raised money out of their own pocket and from the community to buy its truck," said Chief Rick Sluter.

Firetruck involved in accident in Squirrel Hill South

Officials said two firefighters were injured. They were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

According to officials, the firetruck sustained significant damage.

L.A. Fire Department used drones for the first time during Skirball fire

Firefighters used two DJI Matrice 100 drones during the Skirball fire, Scott said. One had a high-definition camera used to survey the burn area, and the other had an infrared camera to assess hot spots.
