Crews battled a two-story house fire Sunday morning that sent plumes of smoke into the air that could be seen throughout Renton. Officials say one person has died following the crash of a helicopter contracted by Washington state's Fish and Game department to help with mule deer surveying. Garfield County Sheriff Drew W. Hyer says the crash happened at about 2 p.m. Saturday. Two firefighters, one with just a few months on the job, pulled a critically injured man from a burning Washington Heights apartment building Sunday night, an FDNY spokesman said.
