New York fire department union threatens legal action over battalion chief job

The city and the firefighters’ union may be headed for more legal action, this time over abolishing the battalion chief’s position made vacant by the recent death of David M. Lachenauer. Firefighters: Shop fire burns power lines in Kennewick

Firefighters are trying to contain a shop fire that has burned power lines in Kennewick. Action News learned this fire caused power lines to spark and go down in the area of Gum Street and 23rd, around 6 p.m., Tuesday. Police have blocked roads in the area. Drivers are asked to use a different route.

Woman found dead after fire heavily damages SeaTac mobile home

The body of a woman was found inside a burned mobile home after firefighters extinguished a blaze that heavily damaged the structure Tuesday, officials said. The first report of the fire came shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday from a person inside the double-wide mobile home at 18100 block of 36th Place South, officials said.
