Reward offered to solve arson fires in Olympia, Tumwater

An award from a $10,000 fund is being offered for information that leads to the arrest or conviction of those responsible for two fires set Monday at Jehovah Witness Centers in Olympia and Tumwater. Around 8:20 a.m. Monday, Olympia firefighters were called to the Kingdom Hall in Olympia for a fire.

Resources for firefighters with PTSD are expanding in Spokane County

We often see devastating disasters, car wrecks, water rescues, and shootings on TV... but in real life, the emotional weight behind it is entirely different. For firefighters, talking about what they see on the job isn't their favorite topic. It's a tragedy that made national headlines in Spokane County: four students shot and one of them killed at Freeman High School.

Northwest incident management teams prepare for fire season

The Northwest region's incident management teams are getting ready for fire season. 10 teams from Alaska,Oregon and Washington all joined the annual pre-wildfire season meeting in Yakima. It gives responders a chance to review what they can expect in the season ahead and prepare what they need. In 2017 the teams responded 35 times and this year they hope it's more controllable.
