Vancouver Fire is inviting the public to come check out their two new fire stations on Saturday afternoon. The stations are located just over a mile-and-a-half apart along Fourth Plain Boulevard, which is one of the city’s highest call volume areas. Vancouver Fire said the new stations will help improve response times and make for more efficient coverage from all four locations in the southwest part of the city.

A fire destroyed a trailer parked at Lake Merwin Campers Hideaway on Wednesday afternoon. No one was hurt, said Capt. Tony Barnes of Fire District 10. Firefighters were called to the private campground club at 3:20 p.m. Barnes said the fire burned a roughly 28-foot trailer, along with a shelter, deck and what appeared to be an extra room built around the trailer.

A closed door helped save the lives of twin sisters trapped in a raging apartment fire in Everett on Monday, according to firefighters. The Everett Fire Department said the two 3-year-old girls’ survival is a lesson for us all. Firefighters said flames covered every inch of the exterior of the girls' first floor apartment and then jumped to the second and third floor apartments.
