A young boy was rescued by emergency responders on Monday afternoon after a car submerged into Brush Creek. According to Kansas City police, officers were called to the scene at 4725 Prospect Avenue on an accident. Police say a child inside a running vehicle knocked it into gear, causing the car to roll down the hill and into the creek.

Firefighters rescued a man who was injured by a piece of equipment while working on a sewer project several feet underground in Ridgefield. The man was taken to a hospital with moderate, non-life-threatening injuries, according to Clark County Fire and Rescue. Crews were working on a sewer project in a subdivision near Northwest Hillhurst Road and 229th Street when the man was injured Monday afternoon.
